You’re buying a new construction home, so it should all be perfect right?
Unfortunately this isn’t always the case!
When buying a new home, you haven’t actually seen the finished product yet, and there are often quite a few tiny details that need to be fixed before you close.
From paint repairs to appliance issues, or even larger structural problems, it is rare for any new build to be “perfect”, so if you can make note of these things during your punch list walk through, they can be fixed by the builder before you move in!
Be as thorough as possible, making note of all issues to ensure they are fixed properly. These issues can also be marked with blue tape so they are not easily missed.
And a little tip: make sure your Realtor is there with you. They know what to look for during these inspections and will make sure you don’t miss a detail!
